Howdy,
I am a sophomore international student from Saudi Arabia studying petroleum engineering. I went into engineering because I love everything that is related to engineering. When I was choosing which engineering major to study, I was torn between the different majors, but I ultimately choose petroleum because I wanted to work in the sector that provided people with the energy they rely on so much. I come from a big family I am the second youngest out of 6 siblings. I am the only one that is outside of Saudi, it can get a little lonely sometimes, but the feeling of being on an adventure is worth it. A part of the adventure is exploring that is why I want to visit all the 50 states in the 3 years that I will be here. While we are on the topic of goals, some of my more serious career goals involve getting into a more managerial position in my first 5 years of working. To help achieve that goal I am planning on applying to the fast track program which will let me get a master's degree in 1 additional year.
